I can't believe my year as Miss Gay Louisiana America is over and I am bidding farewell to my biggest dream.
I don't know where to start.
First, let me start by thanking God for giving me the strength to finish out my year as MGLA 2005. The night I was crowned, I didn't know what was before me, but I knew that I had a job to do, and that was to strengthen the system. It took me six years to get to this point and it was worth it. I had many ups and downs but I made it through the year. I have also grown as a person and learned a lot from everyone that surrounded me. I want to thank my mom and dad for loving me and also realizing my dreams; my brothers and sister for supporting me in everything that I decided to do in my life. There is a long list of people I want to thank for loving me and putting up with my drag droppings. Thanks to Raquel for being such a role model for me and being a true big sister. I want to thank Chris Wilderman for never giving up on me and always believing that I would be a good MGLA. We could not have two better promoters than Raquel and Chris. I want to thank the Bourbon Pub and Parade for there undying love and support, and giving me a place to call home. I love each and every one of you. Before I start with my individual thank you's, I want you to know that even though we have not always agreed on everything, I always cared and listened to your opinions. I want to thank my MGLA sisters; Tiffany, Rusti, Brittani, Raquel, Carrionne, Sylvia, Jessice, Taylor, Victoria, Asya, Monica, Jayda for always believing that I had what it took to be a MGLA. I love each and everyone of you. I want to thank Frazier, Ricardo, Decaruis, Nicole Dubois, Persona, Nathan, Drew, Matt, Ian, Craig & Jonathan, Amy, Bruce, Travis, Victor, Amber, Stevie, Damion, Nicky, Sandore, Marcello, Odessy, Alyssa, Jarrett, Chelsea, Potter, Julian, Zhane, Blake, Lawrence, Sammy, Amaya, Brooke, Luis, Blair, Jessica, Carlos, Fernando, Larry, Fito, Charles, Joe, John, Justin, Lisa Beauman, Bianco Del Rio, Teryl Lynn Fox, Vivica, Kofi, Paster, Tony, William, Brad, Hector, Tim & Vicki, lady T, Allegro White, Tiarra Dominique, Carmen, Miguel, Chrystal and Jonathan Bray. I also want to thank my best friend Elijah for always being there when I needed you and never giving up on me. Good luck in all that you do. To Doug and Roy, you two are so wonderful and sweet and I love you both very much. I hope that I made all of you proud this year as your MGLA. Splash, for all their love and support, thanks. Thank you, Corey, Jeff, Kevin, Patrick, Karen and staff. Last but not least, I want to thank Jerry for coming into my life and showing me true love and supporting me in this art form called female impersonation. I love you baby. I can't forget friends and co-workers at the Gap for all of their love and support and dealing with me even when I was very difficult. As I close this chapter of my life, I leave the new MGLA with these words of advice. Always remain true to yourself and the crown, and your job as MGLA will be fulling. Forever & Always, Dominique Delorean Miss Gay Louisiana America 2005 |
